Above everything else – almost everyone I told I was going to Abu Dhabi said “You have to get the Golden Cappuccino! It’s so expensive!” As a lover of coffee shops and cappuccinos this became number one on my list (equally as important as the grand mosque).
You will find this sip of opulence at the Emirate’s Palace. I walked in, no reservation. It’s a benefit of traveling solo, they can always find a seat for you 😉 The ‘Palace Cappuccino’ is sprinkled with real gold flakes with an intricate design in the foam. It comes in the cutest little china and came in at a whopping…..$25.
Totally worth it. Was it the best coffee ever? Not really. But it was super cool and the experience was amazing. Since I can’t drink just one coffee, I opted for the $5 coffee for my second cup. Tasted the same, emotionally didn’t make me feel as good. HA!
I stayed there for probably 2-3 hours listening to the live piano player, working on my New Years Resolutions Planner/Tracker, and just enjoying coffee and some pasteries. This is one of my FAVORITE things to do when traveling and The Palace did not disappoint.
If you have only a stop-over in the city… this and the Grand Mosque are the must do’s!
