THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE! Two suitcases equalling 96.5 lbs and I was on my way!
I slept most of the flight but woke up just before 0700 UK time. WAY too excited to be able to fall back to sleep. The sun was rising, but hasn’t crested above the clouds yet to wake everyone else. Everyone keeps commenting on how ‘chill’ I’ve been about this whole thing – I keep waiting for it to hit me!
No matter how many times I still love looking at the clouds. I know I’d fall right through them, but in my mind they are still thick like pillows. I know we’re moving hundreds of miles an hour but I feel like we’re only inching forward. I love flying!
I was sharing a room in a flat with two other girls. I had a twin bed and a wall locker for all of my belongings! No closet?! We had a shared kitchen for 10 of us. It was cramped. But when you walked out the front door – we were in NOTTING HILL!
I’ll never forget my first time on the tube. It was silent, clean, enjoyable. I still can’t believe how amazing it was compared to anything I had been on in NYC. We went to Kensington Palace and walked home through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. I can’t believe this was going to be my backyard for the next 4 months!
The school sent us on a few days of scavenger hunts, city adventures, and restaurant visits to get us used to the city and comfortable going out on our own.
Pinch me! I woke up and went for a run through Hyde Park. This is my life now – I could get used to this!
