Valley of Fire State Park

Jack in the Slot Canyon

I was so excited to check out Valley of Fire State Park while I was on a work trip to Vegas. I was a little nervous because I had hurt my leg two weekends prior and I was still recovering. Despite not being able to hike it was the most amazing drive through the State Park with PLENTY of short and easy walks through some of the most beautiful scenery I’d ever seen.

Pink Canyon

I chose this location because, well, it looked like the photos would be amazing. I drove through the park and used my maps.me app to keep track of where I was going. There is no service in the park so you’ll want an offline map for navigation.

My list of stops included:
– Pink Canyon (duh!)
– White Dome’s Trail
– Jack in Slot Canyon
– Elephant Rock
– Atlatl Rock

There were a bunch of cute off-trail paths for walking or hiking. Great for all fitness levels, great for photos. Camping and camper areas. A little bit of everything. You can easily hit most of the top spots in one day. I was there by 0730 and there were no people there and no lines. When I was leaving around noon the line to get into the park was almost a mile long.
